Sound familiar?
“Why isn't this target moving?” “Is this dissociation, or just how she copes?” “Is it safe to start reprocessing yet?” “Do I need to slow this down?” “I have the assessment results. What does this mean for treatment?”

If one of those is running through your head about a client right now, that's the case to bring.

Sometimes the next step doesn't come from adding another technique. It comes from seeing the clinical picture more clearly.

When EMDR doesn't go the way you expected, it's easy to assume you did something wrong. Sometimes that's worth a closer look — but often the client's response is simply information. Consultation is where we get curious about what it's telling us, together.

How we work a case

The protocol gives you a route. Clinical judgment helps you read the terrain.

The client arc is dynamic. Clinical reasoning is iterative — it loops, not lines up.

Is this for you?

Bring the question. Leave with greater clarity about what to do next.

Who this is for

This may be a good fit if you:

  • Completed EMDR basic training but still encounter cases that leave you wondering what to do next.
  • Aren't sure whether a client is ready for reprocessing.
  • Want help thinking through complex trauma, dissociation, attachment, or other factors complicating EMDR.
  • Find yourself wondering whether to proceed, prepare more, slow down, or modify your approach.
  • Want another experienced EMDR clinician's perspective on a case or clinical decision.

What you can get from consultation

Bring a specific case, question, or clinical decision and leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of what may be happening clinically.
  • Help identifying what information you may still need.
  • A way to think through readiness, treatment planning, or next steps.
  • Greater clarity about the reasoning behind different EMDR options.
  • Practical ideas you can take back to your clinical work.

Why only four

Four clinicians. Real cases. Real clinical uncertainty.

The case gets our attention. So does the clinician bringing it. That only works when the room stays small.

Your case doesn't have to be the one we're discussing for you to benefit. Watching another clinician work through uncertainty gives you another opportunity to practice noticing patterns, connecting information, and developing a clinical rationale you can use with your own cases.

Bring your snack. Bring your peeps. Bring your case.

Author of The 51st Minute

I've spent my career in the deep end — complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and cases that don't fit neatly into protocol. What I've learned is that consultation isn't just about handing someone an answer to today's case.

I'm interested in helping you see what you're seeing, connect the pieces, test your thinking, and develop clinical judgment you can increasingly trust for yourself. The goal isn't to get better at asking me what to do — it's to get more practiced at reasoning from what your client is already showing you.

The pilot window: October 2026 – March 2027 — not a six-month enrollment

Six months of Fridays. Small on purpose.

A small number of size-limited consultation rooms where clinicians can bring real clinical uncertainty and work through it together.

$60 purchases one seat in one 90-minute consultation room with no more than four clinicians. Each date is booked separately — come when you have a case you want help thinking through, or return when another clinical question has you wondering what comes next.

Format

90 minutes, on Zoom

Maximum 4 clinicians per room. A seat buys your place in the full 90 minutes, not a guaranteed slice of individual time.

Pilot rate

$60 per seat

Billed per session, first-come first-served. This is a six-month pilot window — the rate reflects that.

Rescheduling

Plans change. Your seat can move.

Each registration may be rescheduled once to another available pilot date, up to 48 hours before your consultation. Registrations are non-refundable.

Recording

Pilot development

With participants' permission, sessions may be recorded and transcribed. AI tools may analyze de-identified transcripts for recurring themes and to improve the consultation experience; recordings and transcripts are deleted after analysis and won't be used for marketing, testimonials, or public training without separate permission.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EMDR Friday?

+

EMDR Friday is a live, online EMDR case consultation group for EMDR-trained therapists.

Bring a current case, assessment question, treatment-planning question, or something that happened during EMDR that you're not sure what to do with next. We'll step back, look at what you're seeing, and think through what the clinical data may be telling you about the next clinical decision.

Each 90-minute consultation is limited to a maximum of four clinicians.

What kinds of cases or questions can I bring?

+

Bring the case you're thinking about. It doesn't have to be perfectly formed.

That might include questions about:

Case conceptualization and treatment planning

My client is early in recovery. What helps me decide if this is an effective time for processing? My client struggles to feel their emotions. Will it affect Phase 4 desensitization?

Readiness

Is this client ready for processing? They're having reactions during processing that I didn't expect. What might those reactions be telling me?

Target selection

My client specifically wants to process childhood sexual abuse, but I don't think they're ready. How do I move forward without feeling like I'm letting them down?

Assessment

I have attachment or dissociation screening data. How do I incorporate what I'm seeing into my case conceptualization and treatment plan?

Dissociation

I'm seeing signs of dissociation, but I'm not sure what mild, moderate, or severe dissociation means for EMDR treatment. What should I look at next?

Complex or developmental trauma

There are so many things we could work on. How do I determine where EMDR fits?

Processing that has slowed or stopped

The target isn't moving. Before I reach for another intervention, what might I be missing?

Processing that moved really fast

My client is moving through each target in four sets. Is this okay, or is there something I should be looking for?

Preparation and resourcing

What preparation does this particular client need so I don't stay in Phase 2 indefinitely?

Where EMDR fits

EMDR may be appropriate for this client, but I'm not sure it should be the focus of treatment right now. How do I decide what comes first?

Do I have to join an ongoing consultation group?

+

No. EMDR Friday is a drop-in EMDR consultation group. There is no six-month commitment or requirement to attend a series of meetings.

Choose the Friday that works for you and register for that session. Come back when another case or clinical question would benefit from consultation.

EMDR Friday is currently in beta. As an early participant, we'll ask for brief feedback about your experience—what was useful, what you'd keep, and what you think could be changed. Your feedback will help shape the format as EMDR Friday develops.

Is EMDR Friday for therapists pursuing EMDR certification?

+

EMDR Friday is focused on current cases and clinical practice. Bring the questions that are coming up as you use EMDR with actual clients, and we'll work through the clinical decisions together.

If your primary goal is completing EMDR consultation as part of the certification process, Master the Model is specifically designed for EMDR therapists pursuing certification.

Is EMDR Friday supervision?

+

No. EMDR Friday provides professional EMDR consultation and is not clinical supervision.

You remain responsible for your clinical decisions, documentation, scope of practice, and compliance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, professional ethics, and workplace policies.

Bring the EMDR case you're not sure what to do with next.

Four clinicians. Ninety minutes. A grounded rationale for what comes next.
